Age UK Newcastle (Charity No: 1041000) is working in partnership with the Fulfilling Lives Programme to improve services for people with multiple and complex needs, with the emphasis on helping to support system change in Gateshead and Newcastle. They currently employ two Service Navigators to work within the Fulfilling Lives programme providing expertise and guidance for working with older people, as well as line management and support to the staff working with clients.
Age UK Newcastle’s mission is ‘to work with and for older people in Newcastle upon Tyne, adding life to years as well as years to life’. They provide a range of services and opportunities for all older people from the most active to the most frail. They offer people the chance to learn new skills, stay active, develop new social connections, and to volunteer, with the aim of reducing social isolation and improving wellbeing in later life.

“Age UK Newcastle has supported people with complex needs for many years and has developed a really good understanding of people often referred to as ‘hard to reach’ or “difficult”. When the opportunity arose to become part of the Fulfilling Lives Programme we very much wanted to be part of the programme ensuring that client’s full needs are met, helping them to improve their lives for the better and in turn reducing the cost to society”
– Lynn Johnson, Chief Executive
