The multiple complex needs unit cost calculator is the first tool we’ve developed and is an easy and accessible means to build up an understanding of an individual or group of peoples’ costs to the system that they interact with. For more information and to try it out click here.

Peer research is embedded within the Research and Evaluation team, and we run a Level 2 accredited research skills training course for our peer researchers.
We have supported the evaluation of Together in a Crisis, the ongoing Moving on Tyne and Wear Innovation Fund study into employment experiences of people in recovery and our EbEs are currently developing peer research into the Care System.

In Newcastle and Gateshead we work together with our partners and stakeholders to support increased learning across the wider sector. We do this through our strategic partnerships and reference groups, as well as evaluating innovative pilots. We also contribute to the learning and national evaluation across all 12 Fulfilling Lives programmes, and to the wider multiple complex needs agenda.
New Economic Foundation (NEF): NEF are working with Fulfilling Lives Newcastle Gateshead to support our learning around how systems change is achieved. This research was conducted over the first three years of the programme with the final report published in June 2017.
Our new delivery model places more emphasis on ensuring we capture the voices of people with multiple and complex needs, and the multiple and complex needs workforce in all of our activity. Our recent Universal Credit prison release case study saw us trial a new process for case study development; where the client, workers from other agencies and Fulfilling Lives meet with our research and evaluation team to develop a case study collaboratively. This approach complements our peer research programme and where possible our growing pool of peer researchers lead this research activity. Read our Universal Credit case study.
