Fulfilling Lives Newcastle Gateshead can provide your service in Newcastle and Gateshead a bespoke Multiple and Complex Needs (MCN) training package.
In Newcastle and Gateshead. we support learning and build capacity through multi-agency MCN training.
This training package is aimed at frontline staff and managers of services that come into contact with people with multiple and complex needs, combining two or more of the following: mental health, substance misuse, accommodation, and/or offending.
Our training covers an understanding of people with complex needs by looking through a trauma-informed lens. People with complex needs have more than an average amount of trauma and neglect in their past combined with less than the average amount of skills to deal with adversity. They tend to have more than the average amount of difficulty with finding direction and motivation in their life, and associated difficulty with:
The training also introduces a five-step reflective practice model and introduces attendees to theories about good practice, taking a ‘trauma-informed’ approach, and three basic principles to ‘open
dialogue’ that can improve the quality of reflective practice sessions.
This way of understanding complex needs is explained using a psychological framework, Ladder4Life. The training has been co-produced and is co-delivered by FLNG’s Experts By Experience network. We also use real-life stories from our Experts in the training through audio recordings and videos.
Our Multiple and Complex Needs training is a full-day workshop, with space for up to 16 delegates at each session.
