Workforce Development
As part of our Workforce Development plan, Fulfilling Lives Newcastle Gateshead are able to offer services in Newcastle and Gateshead the opportunity to apply to take part in our Psychologically Informed Environment (PIE) training programme.
PIE can help services develop around the key areas of:
Services involved would identify a member of staff who will be their PIE Lead and another member of staff who could take the role of Reflective Practice Lead around facilitating some reflective practice / training sessions with their team. They will then be able to produce a baseline pie self assessment report. An example of a typical pie report can be found here. No prior knowledge of PIE or facilitating reflective practice is necessary to take on this role as we are offering training for both roles.
Training will be offered in how to facilitate a discussion within the service staff team to self-assess where the team feel they are currently at in the key PIE areas. We will support staff to identify what helps and hinders the improvement of their service in this area and agree a realistic plan for service improvement.
We make a record of these discussions for evaluation, and repeat the exercise six months later to identify any improvements and learning around PIE through the implementation of the two roles. Our Research and Evaluation Lead Angela Broadbridge will be able to evaluate the learning and improvement and produce a report for those taking part.
In addition, training will be offered to the Reflective Practice Lead in how to facilitate reflective practice sessions. A range of training films will also be produced and made available to use in these
reflective practice sessions on key skills such as: engagement, motivation, boundaries, co-production, and relationship building.
We have PIE training sessions scheduled regularly.
