Fulfilling Lives Celebration Launch Event

The launch marks the start of a multi-agency partnership of organisations set to embark on an eight year journey to better coordinate services for people with complex needs.

The day featured guest speakers Sir Paul Ennals, Chair of Fulfilling Lives Strategic Reference Group, who talked about the progress, challenges and plans for the future of Fulfilling Lives and Lyn Cole, Deputy Director England, Big Lottery, who talked about the journey of Fulfilling Lives to where we are now.

Speaking at the event, Sir Paul Ennals CBE, Chair of the Fulfilling Lives Newcastle Gateshead Strategic Group said that:

“The world of services can be a complex place for people with multiple issues and needs. Today marks the launch of us tackling these issues now and for the next eight years of the funding so that we support people gain control over their own lives.

Neil MacKenzie, Programme Manager of Fulfilling Lives who has been involved with the infrastructure and strategic element of the programme to date comments:

“My vision in eight years is that through the work of Fulfilling Lives there is no longer a need for such a programme. We will have reached a point where the systems across the sectors are more joined up and there is flexibility in working with people with complex needs.”
