Research and Evaluation
Learning is at the heart of Fulfilling Lives and one of our core aims is that evidence and learning from the programme will promote positive changes in policy and practice leading to a changed system that works more effectively for people with multiple and complex needs.

Peer Research Training
The Research and Evaluation Team are currently working with three groups of peer researchers; and true to our co-production model, we are learning a lot alongside our researchers!
In Summer 2017 we trained five peer researchers to attain their Peer Research Skills NVQ certificate, preparing them to undertake an evaluation of the Together in a Crisis (TiaC) proof of concept.
In Autumn 2017, we trained four peer researchers to deliver an exploratory piece of research for Moving On Tyne and Wear’s Building Better Opportunities (BBO) innovation fund project. The peer researchers are exploring the barriers to employment for people with drug and alcohol issues, and to those in recovery, and have devised a set of research questions which will help them in launching their fieldwork in early 2018.
We are also about to embark on an exciting project with our Experts By Experience, starting with six weeks of NVQ training, leading to a research project around leaving care and multiple and complex needs. Our Experts have some strong ideas for the direction they want to take this in, and we are looking forward to them achieving their Peer Research NVQ unit.
